Looking like a house!

It's looking more and more like a house every day. Let's catch you up!

Thanks to some serious wind, work was focused on the back of the house for a while. The first thing that went up was the back deck overhang:

Then they started covering it... (that's goofball framer Jeff posing up there.)
And when it was all covered, someone mentioned that the back of the house at that point looked a little like a newly-built Catholic church...so one of the framers (Jeff again) decided to put a cross up for us:

The weekend after that, Ryan, Papa, and Andy worked on the wiring, getting the boxes set where they need to be.

And soon after that, the rest of the boards on the roof as well as the front porch were going up:

And then, in what seemed like no time at all, the front porch was completed, the roof was papered, and the windows were in.

When Ryan and I stopped in yesterday we were just in time to watch the rest of the doors go in. Here's Trevor and Drew putting in the mudroom door:

Paul making a backing for the meter boxes:

Drew and Jeff carrying the front door. They were trying to navigate some really unsteady terrain and were afraid they were going to drop it - right before this picture was taken Jeff mumbled "Man, I really would prefer the homeowner not watch this!"

But in no time, the door was in place and looking wonderful!

As are the beautiful sliding glass doors that are on the back wall of the great room. Don't they look fabulous??

And here it stands now. Doors are in, windows are in, and its almost warm in there without the wind blowing through. Papa and Ryan are working today on getting some drywall up between the house and the garage, which will help even more. The plumber and HVAC people start doing their thing this coming week.

And on the baby front...
I saw the doctor on Monday and everything is looking fine. I had my belly measured for the first time and I'm right on track. Got to hear the little one's heartbeat again also, and its strong and perfect. I see the Dr. again in mid-march, and then start going every 2 weeks. Woohoo!

More soon!

Oh, and did I mention???

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!

Ryan and I are anxiously awaiting the birth of our first child, due this summer. The details? Baby is due June 20th. We've had a couple of ultrasounds so far and everything is looking great - baby is quite adorable, if we do say so ourselves.

My health has been good so far - nothing out of the ordinary. A little morning sickness there, some heartburn here, but all in all, this has been a fun adventure. I'm blessed to be surrounded by so many awesome women who have already done this pregnancy thing and have offered me some great advice and wisdom on how to deal with the less fun aspects of pregnancy.

I'll keep updating this blog with both baby and house news as it becomes available. It'll be interesting to see which gets done first, the house or the baby! Oh, and we are working on getting the baby guess pool together; as soon as that is ready, we'll post it here. Some of you have already given your gender/date/weight guesses, and I want to make sure I work those in so that you don't have to reenter them. I'm also hoping to get some of the ultrasound pictures up here too, but that's a little trickier. I'm working on it!

P.S. - Thanks Ela for sending the pic. And thank to all of you who kept our little secret as long as you did, we really appreciate it.
